He will be the GOP candidate but I think he will lose it quite convincingly, his problem is that he cannot win new votes in effect, his voting base is loyal and every man and dog who supports him would have voted for him last time around and it just wasn't enough. He can only lose votes from that "high" due to his consistent belligerence and childishness in public. The argument that the fantasy conspiracy against him will pick him up more votes, is just that, a fantasy. Anyone who believes that sort of nonsense were firmly in the Trump camp already. Make no mistake though, his rampant narcissism will mean that he will try and rip down the whole democratic edifice that US politics is loosely based upon when he loses, he will try and start a civil war to stop from accepting his loss. But... People are still really feeling the effects of inflation, the stock market is still stagnant, homes are harder to buy because of interest rates, there is still war in the Ukraine, the border is a disaster, and Biden doesn't know where he is half the time. Trump sucks, but he has a lot of ammunition to use against Biden. |

I am very saddened by the utter desperation of the Republican Party to find its identity and what a failure Trump is at finding it for them. They want to be the "bosses" again, but there is usually nothing wrong with that. Everyone wants to rule the world. The problem in their case is that they have no idea how to run the world. They were never truly the political right. They just thought they were in the Vietnam era. Someone always did the thinking for them, and it shows. Of course the Democrats have absolutely nothing to crow about either, but they will get the job anyway unless the Republicans figure out how to change hearts and minds without holding a gun to the heads of people. The Republican attitude is not one you can have for free, they have to earn it. Trump cannot. All the Democrats have to do is not be as terrible as the Republicans. |

I think he’s a got a good chance of becoming POTUS again - he’ll definitely be the GOP nominee, and given that Old Joe is a warmonger who’s doing a pathetic job for the most part, I think there’s a good chance Trump wins. The Dems are getting too arrogant again and dismissing Trump. All Biden has to run on is “I’m not Trump” - Biden has done very little for the American people while being a raging warmonger who spends billions on Israel and Ukraine, while letting our own border be a disaster.

Considering the current state of the "United States", it wouldn't surprise me if Trump both won the presidency and ended up in prison. All he would have to do then is drop dead from heart failure after decades of unhealthy living to give the conspiracy theorists enough fuel to keep them going for the next 20 years... And divide the country asunder even more... a fitting legacy for him if there ever was one. Then he'd make a great leader for Australia. |
