Now, they're not saying all religious Jews believe this. But it is allegedly written in Jewish scripture. The Talmud says: "Jews are human beings. The non-Jews are beasts and not human." (Tosapoth, Jebamoth 94b) "Non-Jews are like dogs. You must honor the dog more than you honor the non-Jew." (Baza Mezia 114b) "If you eat with a non-Jew it is the same as eating with a dog". (Ereget Raschi Erod. 22 30) So of course, most Jews don't believe this. But is the Talmud the inspiration for Israel's invasion of Gaza? I'd also like to ask Jewish folks here if they believe the Talmud is divinely inspired.

Interesting. Glad I saw your post on the Voting thread. I had no idea that sort of thing was included in the Talmud. I've only been exposed to the inconsistencies of the Bible, as I was raised a Baptist. I'm no longer a Baptist because of the inconsistencies in the Bible, actually an atheist. It would be interesting to hear from Jewish posters what they think about those verses. Maybe you should tag the ones you know of.

Invasion of Gaza???!!! It was HAMAS that attacked the Israelis!!!!! Hamas attacked settlers in Israel. Then Israel invaded Gaza. I'm wondering why civilians in Gaza are bearing the brunt of Israel's retaliation - and not Hamas! Netanyahu wants to look like he's doing something, satisfying a blood lust for revenge. He's accomplishing nothing long term.

How are they supposed to rescue the people who have been kidnapped by Hamas???!!!! Many of those hostages are not even Israelis. This is not even the very first time Hamas has attacked/killed non-Israelis. I know from personal experience. Back when I was in high school, just a little over 3 decades ago, I had friends who went to Israel in a tour group, & one of the people in their tour group was killed when a Hamas terrorist planted a bomb on the beach in Tel Aviv. Now the Hamas terrorists who did this were sentenced to life in prison for this crime, & do you want to know what they said when they were sentenced? "It is an honour to go to prison for this."

It's a good example of how virtually all religions are either grounded in exceptionalist bullshit, or morph into doctrines of it quickly enough. It's a fair example of why I never embraced the religious side of my Jewish ancestry any more than I did the Christian. All of that stuff is balls, and runs counter to any humane teachings either religion boasts of. And before some crank pipes up, Islam gets included in with the other Big Two.

All I have ever heard from Jews, since I was a child, is that they are CHOSEN, more INTELLIGENT and SPECIAL.
Non-Jews were there for exploitation, to serve them.
