I'm going over to my ex's for Christmas day, that will be nice. We'll just get drunk as we usually do, won't make dinner, will just fall asleep on the sofa. But will cook the next day, then we'll have some yum-yum.

We are doing Christmas on December 26th. This year only the little kids get gifts so that's nice. And then a big family dinner. Big old ham, hamballs, turkey, chicken casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade noodles, sweet corn from the sweet corn patch that we picked and froze, green bean casserole, homemade rolls, homemade jellies and jams, deviled eggs, pumpkin pie, and some kind of veggie platter. And then on December 27th we will eat on the leftovers for lunch. Food is the best part of holiday. Watching Godzilla movies or MST3K. I'm staying home with my sweet kitties, dogs and goats. They will get special treats and I will make a lovely vegetarian meal for me. I may knit or quilt, watch old movies and listen to classical music. I have no family, now, other than my companion animals. One of my friends is dealing with the first holiday season since her long-time friend died, and she's decided to tough it out alone. Another will go to her brother's family home for a big meal. My few friends know that this is a hard time of year for me, remembering the loss of my husband, 9 days before Christmas. It really just changes everything. |
