Don’t you consider cinema to be influential to the zeitgeist? Neither that, or the other way around is good for society, especially as day by day we find ourselves (especially in the US) in a more and more polarised culture fuelled by the most ignorant and loudest voices on social media. This has always been so, but the social media has grown exponentially to fed the paranoia in the last few decades. It’s like we are squeezing out a Western, post-modernist, nervous breakdown by replaying the worst of our hits. It’s like White folks cannot be progeny of the most successful race in the human race, who civilized the planet for the benefit of all mankind, and be innocent bystanders when the bad shit Western civilization has done to get those benefits blows back on us as history often does. We can’t, as a triumphal social race, seem to figure this out.

I am going to watch DREAM SCENARIO this weekend, it looks good. Have you seen it? Also maybe going to see SILENT NIGHT, I am surprised that Silent Night got a big screen release in PE in amongst the Aquaman sequel and The Hunger Games spinoff. Have you seen Thanksgiving? Not sure about this one, but I see it has Patrick Dempsey and Gina Gershon in it, so that's a plus.

Story should be long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to be interesting. Saw Aquaman today. Could have cut several scenes to make it tighter. Several callouts to Marvel for some reason. Thanksgiving was excellent. Old fashioned slasher. The background is it was created as a fake trailer for a grindhouse film so they could throw in all the bodies, but not need a plot, but people kept asking where the film was. So here is the film.

Yeah, I have the original Grindhouse double feature - Planet Terror, Death Proof, on BluRay, and I've just watched that trailer again. You've persuaded me to watch Thanksgiving. I also have the original Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) on Blu Ray and have never watched it, maybe Ill throw it into the mix; a double feature with Thanksgiving.

Silent Night, Deadly Night is sad. The kid had trauma about Santa & the stupid nun made him dress up as Santa.
