Me too. Wishing you a more painless 2024, zos. Things have been pretty good and there is every indication that I will get out of 2023 alive, so how bad is that ?
The NHS has dedicated anti pain clinics. I don't know if you have been referred to one Ash, but if not it is worth asking about them.
Yeah, thanks Mowlick, hoping for a longer term cure but guzzling co codamol at the moment.

Me too. Wishing you a more painless 2024, zos. Had a load of blood tests the other day, hopefully they will start to find out whats wrong in my back, bloody annoying. Thanks for the kind words and ant-mac too 🤞!

On a personal level I had a wonderful year. I love my job, my relationship couldn't be better, my daughter has a great job and a lovely fiancé, everyone in my family is healthy (though my sister had a major health scare that's now behind her) and my friends are all well.
The only sad event was that one of my darling dogs died of cancer. The vet did what she could.
I wish the world didn't suck, though.

Ahhhh, not good news, all the blood tests and bone problems in my back point to Myeloma, a type of blood cancer, now on a two week cancer referral. Gonna be a interesting 2024 it looks like. Hey Ho.

Sorry to hear that, mate. 2024 is already off to a cunt of a start. Hope it turns out to be something less harmful and more embarrassing... like uncontrollable flatulence. ;)

Well that is a bugger, although a two week referral suggests that there is no need to book a hearse to Putney Vale crematorium just yet.

It's the standard now, all suspected cancer cases must be seen within two weeks. Hoping they can decide for sure without the bone marrow test which is apparently a real cunt of a thing.

Well yes, but if the medics thought it was a cancer they would have seen you yesterday morning, not kept you hanging around for another fortnight.
Anyway, only the good die young, so you will live forever.

Same as every year, highs and lows. Fulfilling overall though - as everything is really a challenge and a stepping stone to personal growth.
