Maybe it is just me, but I can't help but feel there is a "silent majority" out there who hate the streaming trend due to it's lack of discipline.
I even hate my smart TV. I can't get cable in my upstairs for some reason, and can't get antenna, so I go downstairs to watch cable, and I don't "cheat" like my older brother does (he "tapes" stuff for later).
If you miss something on the restroom break or going for a snack, or when you're going out, you should miss it. Only a geek "pauses" or "tapes" stuff for later.

My recent experience says otherwise.
So many older movies aren’t available on a streaming service. Many are available to rent/buy on Amazon, but an alarming number of them aren’t available anywhere online.
Look through the older movies of Spielberg, Friedkin, Scorsese, etc. Even the legends have their movies in streaming purgatory.
And no, renting a movie for $3-$4 every time I want to watch it isn’t convenient or practical. Not to mention that multiple streaming services have simply ripped movies from their library (HBO most infamously) and some have even rescinded purchased digital movies because they discontinued the service (Google Movies).
Predictably, streaming isn’t just an infinite library you pay for. It’s become a panel of executives deciding what your library is every month. If that’s what you want, that’s fine. I’d rather buy my own library and know I have it for multiple decades.
