That’s better than common core. The way they teach my kids math is ridiculous and makes it more complicated. 25 years ago I tried to become a math teacher (secondary school); but found out that teaching is not for me. I know that there are often heated debates on the "best" way to teach maths. I am not familiar with Common Core; but when I was a child, set theory was a thing. Some grown-ups didn't like it. So I guess there will be disagreements about the best way to teach maths, as long as there are maths

Sure, I wouldn't want firearms anywhere near a child for example.
But I wouldn't refuse them to learn about guns. Or any other subject.
That's actually not a bad example.
At some point, every boy needs to get the 'You're not firing blanks' speech.
But at 5? 7?
Guns should probably come first
It should at least be before puberty. And puberty can actually come as early as six years old (although that's in the extreme). |

Anybody who would deny me the chance to read anything and I would move Heaven and Earth, and raise Hell to read whatever it is, regardless wether I had any interest in it in the first place.
And when I had read it, I would loose interest.
You would move Heaven and Earth to preserve child porn? That's what Gender Queer is. The definition of child porn is the depiction of minors engaging in sexual acts, which that book visually depicts. Minors having sex (sometime with adults), giving blowjobs, and masturbating. Preserving that is a priority to you? |

Maybe they should actually take a look at these innocent little stories. The books are written on a first-grade level, so they can probably struggle through them. But maybe it's easier to fall for the horror stories about sexually explicit material being shown to schoolchildren being peddled by neo-fascist groups such as "Moms for Liberty." |
