Correction to the previous announcement.
February movie night is February 3rd, which is a Saturday. This February we will honor the great actor Lamont Waltman "Lee" Marvin Jr. Ah, stardom! They put your name on a star in the sidewalk on Hollywood Boulevard and you walk down and find a pile of dog manure on it. That tells the whole story, baby. Nominate your favorite Lee Marvin movie or maybe one you’ve never seen before. Rules:
Any Lee Marvin film.
You can list as many films for nomination process, but only one post at a time.
Each movie nomination requires a still or gif from the movie.
Nominations will be open until January 21st at which time, four movies with the top number of entries will be voted upon until Jan. 28th. Lee Marvin Movie will be February 3, 2024. Movie Maven hugsfromlv426 will advise us on the platform we can access as I have no clue how to do that part. However, yours truly will host that night and I invite all members of IMDb1 to join in the fun. So. Please start nominating now. ![](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/0e/06/e2/0e06e27ad1860e42a15cca38f64fa8ca.jpg) You might want to drop the pic requirement. A lot if us post on mobile devices and pics are a pain to post with those. It's why I mostly post YouTube videos I am almost always on my phone

You might want to drop the pic requirement. A lot if us post on mobile devices and pics are a pain to post with those. I also heard that just making it a Western theme rather than strictly Lee Marvin movies that few people like might be a better idea so that some good and popular movies could be nominated and a bigger group shows up. I just heard that somewhere. It's not me saying it. People say the darnedest things and I'm just a messenger here. Though he wasn't just in westerns 1951 You're in the Navy Now Teresa 1952 Diplomatic Courier We're Not Married! The Duel at Silver Creek Hangman's Knot Eight Iron Men 1953 Down Among the Sheltering Palms Seminole The Glory Brigade The Stranger Wore a Gun The Big Heat Gun Fury The Wild One 1954 Gorilla at Large The Caine Mutiny The Raid 1955 Bad Day at Black Rock Violent Saturday Not as a Stranger A Life in the Balance Pete Kelly's Blues I Died a Thousand Times Shack Out on 101 1956 Seven Men from Now Attack Pillars of the Sky The Rack 1957 Raintree County 1958 The Missouri Traveler 1961 The Comancheros 1962 The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance 1963 Donovan's Reef 1964 The Killers 1965 Cat Ballou Ship of Fools Bill Tenny 1966 The Professionals 1967 The Dirty Dozen Point Blank 1968 Hell in the Pacific 1969 Paint Your Wagon 1970 Monte Walsh. 1972 Pocket Money Prime Cut 1973 Emperor of the North Pole The Iceman Cometh 1974 The Spikes Gang The Klansman 1976 Shout at the Devil The Great Scout & Cathouse Thursday 1979 Avalanche Express 1980 The Big Red One 1981 Death Hunt 1983 Gorky Park 1984 Dog Day 1986 The Delta Force There's war flicks & others in there.

Is that a passive-aggressive disapproval?

Real life war hero Lee Marvin's famous "laconic tenderness" is on full display in his role as The Sergeant in Sam Fuller's THE BIG RED ONE (1980).
And he co-stars with Ronald Reagan in THE KILLERS (1964)He also starred - with Richard Burton and O.J. Simpson, in THE KLANSMAN (1974), one of the more politically incorrect exploitation films ever made. GORKY PARK (1983) is another good film Marvin starred in.

He was in around 56 movies. You could probably just run 2 polls of 20-something to get it down to 50 to run in the poll.

I asked Hugs about how do this and he said: “You can come up with any procedure you want as long as it gets a lot of nominations and has a fair voting procedure.” So far, I’ve got a lot of nominations.

I was gonna put up “Gorky Park”, but I’m thinking it’s “end times Cold War” feel would be lost on people. Great Bill Hurt, Lee Marvin in the lovely Joanna Pacula. Brilliant film in its time.

as an aside: The vast majority of "Lee Marvin Movies" are movies that Lee Marvin was one among many in the cast.
He is not *****THE STAR**** of most of his filmography. Some of those films listed are little more than uncredited roles. He was basically a character actor who got a handful of big roles -- and an Oscar for one of them!
It's all rather like listing "Walter Brennan Movies" and including "The Invisible Man" where, very early in his acting career, he played the uncredited "man on bicycle".

If you watch really carefully you catch him with a few words of dialogue. It's all kinda like discussions of "Audrey Hepburn Movies" including The Lavendar Hill Mob ... or calling her role a "cameo" rather than a bit part.
