Well, Star Trek Generations, the first Star Trek: The Next Generation movie, is set 78 years after the first death of Captain James T. Kirk in that movie.
Then subtract 7 for the seven seasons/years of Star Trek: The Next Generation immediately preceding Star Trek Generations.
That number is 71.
So according to Star Trek, a next generation is 71 years later.
