My personal favorite is from the diaries of the Italian novelist Cesare Pavese: "You have become an adult when you realize that telling your troubles does not make them better."Don’t tell a shrink that, they would want to remain in business.

The rest may be brutal, but #1 is fine with me.

"Es gibt kein richtiges Leben im falschen" (Adorno) There are different translations available "There is no right life in the wrong one" "There is no true life within a false life" “There is no correct life in the one that is false.” For those who want to dig deeper www.sup.org/books/extra/?id=31023&i=Excerpt%20from%20Chapter%201.htmlOnce a philosophy student told me when I (as a non-philosopher) asked him about what exactly Adorno meaned with richtiges Leben, that richtiges Leben means being aware of all implications of what You do at every moment.

Life is unfair. That’s the rule, not the exception. Basically, your task in life is to try to make it less unfair.

13. Unless you're a famous historical figure, you will be completely forgotten within a few decades of your death.
I’m featured on a website that’s preserved for posterity by the British Library's UK Web Archive so I probably won’t be completely forgotten. Just mostly forgotten.
Mind you, things do get accidentally deleted.

If you insist on telling people how good you are you will be mocked.

I’m thinking sooner or later all family trees will be created through AI and I’ll be replaced by a handsome body builder with a PhD.
