Is it still snowing in the US? Such cold extremities. Yes, at least in the Northeast this weekend. Although it was only half of what it was on Tuesday, which wasn't all that bad either. So still a generally mild winter in the Northeast, but nothing compared to last winter, which was the mildest, driest winter in at least four decades. I live sub-tropical not too far from Tropic of Capricorn. The wet weather has made the humidity thick as pea soup all summer. Looking forward to the cooler months, which are mild winters in compare to northern US and Canada.

I thought you lived in New Zealand. Are you up FNQ way? Not that far. I grew up NZ, but live in Oz. Ah. FSQ maybe! Spent 3 months there, mostly in the north in 2007. October to January in Cairns - the humidity was incredible. Drenched in sweat in 5 minutes!

It made me feel disoriented too.

I really like Cairns - not so much for the town itself but because it symbolises the gateway to the reef to me. The gently pulsing green lights leading your eyes out of the harbour and into the ocean beyond are mesmerising to me.

I didn’t have the best of time though when there. Family reunion and it was a chore

I recently watched Eli Roth's Fin documentary about sharks and how they are being fished for their fins and its going to ruin the ecology of the ocean. Some amazing underwater scenes in this disturbing documentary.
