I might pop "Fallen Angel" up a notch to 8/10. I see that you rated "Werewolves on Wheels" at a lowly 2/10 but the title suggests there might be some fun in it. Any incentive at all to see it? And I'll pop "Fallen Angel" up another notch to 9/10. I'll drink to that!

Xanadu (1980) I was listening to Olivia Newton-John's Magic the other day, and got me an urge to watch this denounced film at the tail end of the disco era. The movie was campy, cheesy, cringy dialogues, ugly costumes, atrocious special effect, and terrible acting especially by the lead actor Michael Beck. God, he was bad. Basically, anything that can be bad about a movie, you can find it here. It is like the movie was made for pre-teens, and only for pre-teens. That said, the film had its potential with an interesting muscial fantasy story, but just that the execution was off mark. There were some good moments though: The Gene Kelly & Olivia Newton-John dance, the rock 'n' roll mixed with the big band by The Tubes and Olivia Newton-John, and the animation during the Don't Walk Away tune. What this movie got going was the excellent soundtrack of mostly Olivia Newton-John & Electric Light Orchestra songs, one of my favorite movie soundtrack. The movie seems to have developed a much lenient assessment in recent years, which resulted to a successful Broadway musical. It is one of those bad movie that is watchable, thanks to the music and the charming Olivia Newton-John.

The Deadly Affair 1967 The Deadly Affair is a 1967 British spy film based on John le Carré's first novel, Call for the Dead (1961). The film stars James Mason and was directed by Sidney Lumet from a script by Paul Dehn.
As it is a Columbia Pictures production and Paramount owned the film rights to the name George Smiley, the central character is renamed Charles Dobbs; however, his police liaison Mendel and wife Ann's names are retained. Paramount had acquired the film rights to the Smiley character name when filming The Spy Who Came In from the Cold (1965). Wikipedia Pretty good Carre spy flick. I like seeing London as it was in 1976. Mason's Smiley is less controlled than Alec Guinness or Gary Oldman's interruption.

40TH ANNIVERSARY THE JEWEL IN THE CROWN (1984) “The Towers of Silence” The third novel is concluded, focusing on missionary Barbie (Peggy Ashcroft). Amazon Prime
THIS IS SPINAL TAP (1984) Rob Reiner’s Mockumentary of an aging rock band (Harry Shearer, Michael McKean, and Christopher Guest), with Reiner himself. My intro to the group (which I thought was real) was from “The Otto Show” Episode of THE SIMPSONS in 1992. I would see the film in parts on Comedy Central and the Movie channels in the mid-1990s. It’s entry in I LOVE THE 80s (with reactions by Tom Muschiano, Quiet Riot, and Alice Cooper) informed me how painfully real to life some of the comedy scenes were. I finally saw the full film on a Betamax Recording in 2021. Amazon Prime
I also listened to the Mock Commentary of the film by Shearer, McKean, and Guest in character. YouTube presentation of the Criterion DVD.
