I spent some time years ago managing a kitchen where my head cook had recently been released from serving time for killing his wife’s lover when he walked in on them. The owner hired him and just let me know: “This is your new guy. Murdered a dude. Seems nice.”
And ya know what? He really was.
Real mouth breather, though.

Some 37 or 38 years ago, a friend of mine's wife fell in love with a women, and eventually left him. It was quite strange, Sonja and I used to go to their house for supper every weekend, then one weekend there was a tall, sturdy fairly butch young woman named Vanessa at supper as well. That went on in weekends to come for a while, until my friend's wife, Val - an olive-skinned, hard bodied little pixie of a woman with long flowing hair down to her waist, moved out and went to live with Vanessa. In all the years I had known this couple - both art lecturers at the local university, they were so close they had seemed joined at the hip, we thought nothing could pull them apart. My friend took it stoically, on the surface, But his heart was breaking, and one night he blew out his brains with a revolver. I was the last person to see him alive. It haunts me too this day, and I think if only I had of been more aware, read the signs better, not let him go home alone. Sonja was working a night shift at the paper and I was going through to the townships to score weed that evening. My friend wanted to come with me for the drive, but I told him - for all the right reasons - it was too dangerous; which it kinda was; but oh the irony, and the regret I have. Of course, on the surface, he was showing almost nothing amiss, and even seemed strangely calm, but inside his heart was shattered and his pain must have been unbearable; too much to live with. If only he had of opened up to me, if only I could have been more observant. That's a hell of a post. I'm sorry for the loss. Thinking on it tho, if my wife were to leave me, I'd rather it be for a woman and not another man. Weird hmm? Whomever it is, be strong, Kindercarebear!

Oh like M*A*S*H (One the recurring jokes are people dreaming of geishas walking on them when they're on leave in Tokyo)?
