Hardly. The Dolphins were led by a hall of fame QB, The Bears had a chump for QB. The Bears entire defense from that year is in the Hall of Fame and Sweetness is generally considered the best RB ever; certainly top 5. And they did the Super Bowl Shuffle.

Then why did the 85 Dolphins KICK THEIR ASS? Marino's release was too fast, when the Bears rush got to him the ball was already gone. When the blitz was neutralized the Bears were just an ordinary team. Marino also was the first one to get a sense on how to defeat the 4-6 defense Buddy Ryan and Ditka implemented. By the following season, with Ryan gone, the Bears D still ran the 4-6 and were still a beast, but within a couple of years every team understood how to defeat it. Today the 4-6 isn’t very commonly used. I think though Rex Ryan did when he coached the Jets ten years ago.

Not according to their statistics. Singletary is a 10 time pro bowler (he played 11 seasons). Buoniconti made the pro bowl/all star before merger 8 times, played longer, and had fewer things like interceptions and tackles. The only stat he wins in is sacks and he played longer. Conclusion? Singletary > Buoniconti

That's what made Ditka 'forgetting' to let Walter into the endzone that Superbowl almost unforgivable.

Yeah what possessed him to do that is beyond me. I mean fans loved when he sent The Fridge in for one of the TDs, but Sweetness busted his ass week in and week out. It was the worst thing Ditka did as the Bears coach. And we know it hurt Sweetness too because word came out he was saddened by not being able to in the biggest game of his career. Ditka is still an icon and beloved here, but no one defends him for that decision.

We all got the decoy ploy.......and most didn't even try to stop the Fridge........but with a blowout game? And you opt for Perry over Walter later in the game?
You could see how upset Walter was before it was over. And trust me, even Packer fans were so happy for Sweetness finally getting a ring.

He was such a classy, nice guy. I can see why Packers fans were happy. He wasn’t a cocky smartass like Jim McMahon (who I met last year, very nice dude) or one of the trash talkers on the D. Just a nice guy. Fucking shame what happened to him. All those drugs they gave him to deal with the constant bruising play during the season led to severe health issues later in life. I always liked Clay Matthews, btw. Superb hall of famer linebacker. He often kept a below average defense playing their guts out with his leadership.
