And this is on topic because it is in the outdoors. All the things you heard about probably do some good (take aspirin, drink water before bed, eat greasy breakfast etc.) but this works for me every time. I drank tons on Thanksgiving and the next morning I was paying for it big time. Instead of sitting around all day feeling terrible I jumped on my mountain bike and took a brisk 12 mile bike ride. By the time I got home I had no hangover at all. I think the combination of all that fresh air and getting my heart rate way up did the trick. Well yesterday some people showed up with plenty of alcohol. So this morning I did the same thing. Again handover gone. If you overindulge on New Years Eve give it a try the next morning.
Plus you get the benefit of getting exercise.

Makes sense, you are getting your blood pumped around your body faster, so it gets cleaned (i.e. de-alcoholised) faster.
Now, what about diarrhoea? Will a 12 mile bike ride help with that?

The best cure for a hangover is...
1) blow job from girlfriend. 2) full English 3) doing fuck-all but watch telly. 4) spend all day complaining about your headache.

LOL. My guess sitting on a bike seat for 12 miles would do more harm for diarrhea than good. But it does wonders for hangovers.

In WW2 pilots use to drink all night and if they had to fly, would climb to high altitude as quick as possible so they would have to use the Oxygen which then help sober them up, or would go to a Hanger and use the oxygen stored there (true).
