Added some photos to OP. Will add an obit story link when a good one appears. News is still breaking. Where did the pic of him wearing #36 come from? Never seen it.
Not going into the whole murder mess. He did it. But as a football fan in western NY, no one gave much of a shit for him. When the Bills got the #1 pick in the 1969 draft, he was to be the savior, the man who led the Bills to the Super Bowl. Not even close. One playoff game in his tenure. In his first three seasons, he didn't have more than 750 yards rushing. The next five years, yeah he had more than 1000, over 1500 three times. and, by age 30, he was washed up. And it was painfully obvious that he did not want to be here. Not blaming him, he was a soCal guy and Buffalo is a long way from LA. But he was cunty about it. Overrated as hell. Walter Payton was 10,000x the player Simpson was.
He did do the Bills one service. They traded him the the 49ers for some draft picks, one of was the #1 overall in 1979. As the team did for most things in the late 70's, they fucked it up. Took Ohio State LB Tom Cousineau, who promptly jumped to Canada. When Cousineau came back, he wanted to play for the Browns so Cleveland sent a #1 in the filthy rich 1983 draft to Buffalo. Who used it for Jim Kelly. So OJ was somewhat responsible for the SB years here

But, not a criminal jury. Civil stuff is BS. That's my opinion. In 1974 O.J. Simpson played Garth - a revolutionary and assassin killing, mostly, bad white dudes in a small county in the Deep South, in the sleazy klansploitationer, THE KLANSMAN, co-starring Richard Burton and Lee Marvin. The N-word is used, there are graphic rape scenes, it's filled with violence, vigilante justice and bloodshed and both Burton and Marvin appear drunk - although they manage to stay on their feet; Burton's character has serious karate skills and fucks up chief rapist and seriously fucking racist cop and Klansman Cameron Mitchell with some deadly, but inadvertently hilarious karate chops. Linda Evens, who bares all, appears in a small role as a white woman raped by a black man I saw the uncut version on the big screen in SA back in the day; couldn't believe my eyes. Still, I'm nostalgic enough to own it on BluRay - it's what I'd call a good bad movie; it's junk, but it entertains, and I did show it to my late wife once. The second of these trailers is longer, more explicit and features some of the more racist and profane language - from the racist characters in the film. Richard Burton, plays the liberal hero", and the only two people who will help him fight against the Klansman who are trying to kill him are OJ and an initially reluctant Marvin. WARNING: The following, longer, Australian trailer may trigger sensitive woke liberals. So don't watch it if you are going to offended. No recommended to board users under 16.Whatttt? This is news to me. I never knew that. I will have to check this out. Maybe, I can download it. Thanks Jeff It's on YouTube. The ful movie.

I don't think so. I'm just saying my belief system is Mormon so he would go to the 3rd Heaven where all the killers & such go. So unless he denied the Holy Ghost, he is in the telestial kingdom with Hitler, etc. I really don't see OJ as religious Maybe at the end like many I wasnt married in temple so the best I can do is second-terrestrial. merh, I didn't know you're Mormon. I have Mormon family and converted in my youth. I left the church but I still believe they have the best most airtight theology of any Christian sect.
I think Simpson believed he was justified in his murders because his wife committed adultery and Goldman was the man she slept with. The Old Testament does warrant the death penalty for adulteresses. Bottom line, OJ died with a clear conscious. He never believed he did anything wrong.
I'm probably more where you are. Brought up in the church but now more of a deist. I think God would care more about how one treats one's fellow man than which faith one prays through. I do think the Mormon theology is better. The whole "I was saved xx/xx/xxxx so nothing I do can damn me" or the whole catholic sin knowing one can just confess & it's OK seem wonky. I thought everyone knew I was the board Mormon. Born in San Bernardino. The stakehouse had a display of the fort the Mormons built. Mormons are pretty embedded in SoCal & we are brought up on all the history. Lived in Utah (Orem) for 7 years as a teen. Dad was from Ephraim. His great-somethingback grandfather joined the church in Denmark & came across in 1850, part of the handcart bunch. Brigham Young sent him & his brother down to settle San Pete County with other Danes. Someone was married to Young so I'm related by marriage or some such to Brigham Young. Who was a jerk it seems. Probably most of the stuff about blacks holding the priesthood was him. On mom's side, a neighbor in Florida asked if they could take the kids to church. Grandma asked which church? Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints so grandma was OK with it. By the time she figured out it was the Mormons, she was hooked. So I don't feel OJ had the right to kill his ex. One thing I got out of Mormons is we all get to go to hell our own way. The whole Lucifer's plan that humans would have no free will so they couldn't stray vs Jesus's plan that we had free will to choose. I do believe OJ figured he could get away with it because he felt his fame would save him from prison.

Too bad Norm McDonald is dead. A few more OJ jokes from him now would have been perfect.

Dammmn. This news is like a knife to the heart. I know just how you feel. I haven't stopped tearing up and blubbering loudly ever since I heard the news. I'm emotionally devastated. It's so terribly sad. Will probably go to bed early and sob myself to sleep. I can't eat, I don't even feel like smoking weed. The scale of this tragic loss is just so vast its hard to comprehend. Personally, Iβm gutted.

Time to get back the 2010 NFL clip, when it made a list of the top 100 players of all time.
He was ranked #40 (Walter Payton was ranked #5) and Chuck Klosterman was pretty right about his prediction:

Just like all psychopathic narcissists. Maybe. But if he hadn't killed her, people would be swooning over the big lug now that he's dead.

I bet he had a big lug black dick. I had a bit of a little boy crush on him in the late 70's when I saw him in The Cassandra Crossing - '77. I think his character got shot and killed if I recall. I was devastated.

Fun fact: OJ was the original choice to play the Terminator but James Cameron felt people wouldn't buy him as a killer. Not that they would have needed him, but I'm surprised OJ's Dream Team didn't have him testify.

I'm not saying I think OJ had absolutely nothing to do with the murders, but the one thing I don't understand is how did he manage to butcher and maul two people to death in cold blood and still get on a plane to Chicago on the same night?
I think the Kardashians became famous because of Kim's sex tape, no?
Before that, they were nonentities.
But literally and technically, it was Robert and Kris Kardashian who gave us the Kardashians.
Before the OJ criminal trial began, there used to be an afternoon political talk show in New York City hosted by former NYC mayor Ed Koch and Felipe Luciano.
Once the trial began, the show was replaced by a news show called OJ Today.
While the criminal trial had cameras in the courtroom, I think the civil trial didn't.
So while news outlets simply read or printed excerpts of the civil trial transcripts, E! Entertainment Television actually used the transcripts as actual teleplays and produced a nightly reenactment of the civil trial complete with actors playing all the participants in the case.
The guy who played OJ had the easiest job because most of the time all he had to do was just sit there and make silly facial expressions while he listened to everyone else talk.
The Dancing Itos should reunite to perform at the funeral/memorial service.
