From the coverage in the German media the breakup was not so much about transgender culture wars but more about Mairi McAllen (SNP) announcing that the climate targets cannot be achieved. For Scottish Greens this was the straw that broke the camel's back.
I see parallels to Germany: here it is the troublemaker FDP who tries to fight against sectorwise climate targets. But the minister for trafic (Wissing, FDP) does still recommend his party colleagues to not leave the trafic light coalition.

From extensive soundings by my highly trained team of researchers (my ex son in law is about to take early retirement and last week went off to Edinburgh University to see about a part time lectureship and met some mates in a pub), the general feeling is that the Greens are massively up their own arses and that kiddie fiddling is ok for Joe Biden, but a vote loser in Scotland.

Feel a bit sorry for him.
No Holyrood election. He’ll stay as FM until a new SNP leader is chosen .. has to be within 28 days.
Jon Swinney to be new leader? He doesn’t really want to be but he may be persuaded.The Greens won’t work with Kate Forbes so she’s probably not going to get the gig.
