I've heard people talking in public proudly about they're such tough parents and how they come up with all these bizarre punishments for things that aren't even problems. I listened to a woman on her phone tell someone how she forced her little boy to drink hot sauce, and that she screams in his ear while he is asleep as punishment for waking her up. It's heartbreaking to think of the hell some children live in. It really is. I once overheard a man in MacDonald's boasting of beating his son for a half hour with a belt, saying he wanted to toughen him so he'd be ready for bar brawls when he got older. When he left, I walked behind him to the parking lot and watched what car he got into. I jotted down his license plate no. and called Children's Services. Holy shit, I pray that child is okay.

He's a monster but can't help being impressed by that boy's running. The son wasn't fat and looked healthy he didn't deserve that.

Yeah, hope he made it to adulthood. This was years ago, before cellphones were common, or I would have taken a photo of the license plate. I don't know if Children's Services investigated. They took the license plate number and thanked me calling.

From the descriptions of the injuries, they had to have occurred at a different time. The treadmill falls are not all that severe. Yes. The prosecution presented that footage as part of the pattern of abuse at the heart of their case. Many media outlets misrepresented that to some extent, or at least implied that the abuse/torture that killed the boy was the treadmill incident. It gets attention, I suppose.

This murderer was the boy's biological father.
The mother was seeking child support from him although he didn't know that he'd fathered a child, apparently.
He had a paternity test taken and he was the father.
For some reason, the boy ended up living with him. I don't understand that part, but the boy clearly received blunt trauma.
It's how he died.

He was fine the morning he was dropped off at his father's the day he died of injuries. It should be an open and shut case, but you never know with juries anymore. There's a reason why defense attorneys want people they think are stupid on the jury.

He obviously did not love that boy. Maybe he resented having to support him, and wanted to kill him. Btw, the father looks like pure evil.

The mother procreated with a creature that bit her son on the head. Only animals do this, so she should be accused of bestiality, or else they should both be spayed/neutured so they can never do this again.

Horrible all the way around.
Poor kid got trauma that killed him and from the video...I suspect it was not from the exercise but inside the house.
However, the father had full custody for a child he didn't even know of for years.. had did that happen? That's not an excuse...but observing obviously the mother was also not a gem in this poor boy's life.
He didn't look overweight in the slightest. I know how fathers try to toughen up their sons...but this was well beyond that. Given the injuries the autopsy revealed, its doubtful this gesture caught on video was (in any way) altruistic.

I haven't been in that many scrums in/near bars.........but none of them involved someone trying to smack a guy's ass with a belt.

In this guy's trial, his resting face (while others speak and testify) is murderous rage.
He looks like he's going to jump up and kill people in the courtroom.
I'm sure that goes well with the jury, right?
They can see him.
(This is his murder trial for the murder of the little boy forced onto the treadmill.)

It sure looks like he's responsible, but unfortunately there's no "smoking gun" evidence he's the one who caused the kid's injuries which happened two weeks after the treadmill video.
