It is testament to her level of thinking and maturity, that is simpleminded and childish. The dog had frustrated and embarrassed her that day, but she couldn’t be an adult about the situation. She could’ve have surrendered the dog to a shelter or at least had a veterinarian euthanized Cricket, she could afford it, but she probably sees that as being weak. The poor goat was caught up in the bloodlust of her “I’ll show you!” temper tantrum. I get the point that someone who owns a ranch has to make cavalier decisions about animals. And she obviously tells that story to make herself sound tough and decisive, ready to be the leader of the free world.
But a President sends people to war and makes life and death decisions for the nation. And she showed us that she doesn't have the judgment. As you said, that dog had other uses as a pet and she was improperly trained by Noem.
As a cattleman that has actually put animals down, Ms. Noem is a dangerous idiot. You don't kill a healthy bird dog puppy for acting like a puppy. Donate that pup if you can't train it on your own. Casey apologized and said she failed to protect her daughter from her father. I haven't seen an apology from Kristi Noem. She failed Cricket her dog. you still can't differentiate a human life with a dog and Casey Anthony's father had nothing to do with the child's death, Casey Anthony killed her own daughter Casey is innocent But, Kristi killed her own dog and she is proud of it. |

I wouldn't go that far. But Noem's reason for killing the dog, because she "hated it" that it confused chickens with pheasants and thus shot it in the head, are reasons why she must never be in charge of our military.
