To recap: at $307,700+ annual salary, Columbia professors are in the top 4% highest paid in NYC Also to recap,,you've decided to ignore how the reported average NYC salary simply doesn't mesh with the average NYC cost of living which means your numbers by themselves are pretty meaningless, and that various cost of living calculators say that most Anericans would need to fully double their incomes to maintain their standard of living if relocating to NYC. But none of that meshes with your talking point so it must be a leftist plot or something. Oh...FYI...the salary for a tenured professor at my local Ivy League school is around $150k. Which tracks with those cost of living calculators.

CoE doesn't get nearly as much as med.

At Barnard College, Columbia’s sister school located across the street from Columbia, the average yearly salary of full professors is $181,600.
Please proceed to humiliate yourselves.

I'm just finishing up hammering your talking point into the ground.

What's embarrassing about that? That's still 250% of the median income you've been blathering on about, and Barnard College doesn't cost more to attend then Harvard, like Columbia does. Any more failed deflections?

Any more failed deflections? Numbers and facts aren’t deflections. You and other posters don’t want to face facts that Columbia professors are paid an exorbitant amount. You (plural) have ignorantly and falsely claimed $307,700 is normal for NYC, I have pointed out it is not, it is in the top 4% of yearly incomes for NYC. You have falsely claimed it’s normal for an NYC professor. It is almost twice what Barnard professors are paid and Barnard is across the street. Your collective posts are the deflection from my op. You are wrong. I jumped through all your hoops and proved you (plural) are dead wrong. And yet you are still deflecting from my op.

No, numbers and facts aren't deflections...unless of course you simply repeat them ad nauseum in order to avoid addressing OTHER numbers and facts because they don't fit into your argument. Then they become deflections. I've stated repeatedly that any cost if living calculator out there is going to tell you that most Americabs would need to fully double their incomes in order to maintain their lifestyle if relocating to NYC. The response? Barnard College pays its professors two and a half times the so-called median NYC salary. The funny part is, instead of backing up your own argument, that actually supports mine. And you're lying. I didn't say $300k was "normal". I said it wasn't that high for NYC. Not like it would be for my area. So. Lies and deflections. Got anything else?

You are bizarrely deflecting from the point in my op that I have backed up many fold. You’re no longer even remotely making sense. I’m truly sorry for whatever affliction this is that you have. Feel better.

And now you're down to the "nuh uh you" evasion. That usually does follow the lies.

It just means you're incapable of acknowledging someone else's valid point. Sorry. I mean...is this an endurance contest now? You'll just keep lying and I'll just keep coming up with progressively harsher ways to make fun of you? I'm kind of notorious for making those last for DAYS...lol It's over. Just bow out. I don't dislike you enough yet for that to be very much fun.

Which factual income statistic is a lie and - according to your tinfoil hat - how high does the conspiracy go? The lie, at least twice now, is that I claimed $300k is "normal". And now the deliberate obtuseness sets in. I never did understand what you people hope to accomplish by going to that, but hey, makes my job easier.
