Yeah, I know them from back in the day. okay, but never really thought they had anything special to stick out from that scene in general. Too derivitive of others. Visited London's "Bat Cave" once or twice but never really cared for the stuff too much. Even was known to back comb me hair when I had some.

I remember you talking about the "Bat Cave" before. Man, what I'd give! I forgot if you've been to America. I'm sure we've discussed it, but the ol' noodle isn't recalling it at the moment. Ever been to the Bowery in NY? CBGB's? Back when I was a wee lass (16) I played drums in a punk band. Not to toot my own horn but,....yeah, I kinda sucked. Nothing to write home about. Passable, but it was never my calling. Fun? Yes. Calling? Nah.
There's some good bands that are on the "generic" side, as well as some of the more obscure ones.

There's some good bands that are on the "generic" side, as well as some of the more obscure ones. Nope, never been, would've loved to have spent a year mid 1970s at places like Max's and CBGBs although I gather the latter was a shit hole and I've never been a fan of that as a purposeful selling point as I am lead to believe it was with that venue. New York would have been the place to go though, always hated the west coast Laurel Canyon style shite music. London still has a good music scene but ridiculous high rents have forced misty of the medium sized venues out of business (300-500 people type set ups). The pub scene is very vibrant though as are the dance subgenres which work illegally often by word of mouth alone. Places like the Bat Cave for goth, The Vortex for punk and Blitz for new romantic though we're more about the people going than the music played and quickly fizzled out. the Marquee club ruled everything though. So many great times in that place, Was almost a second home to me.
