Have you seen their film in North Korea? Utterly fascinating.

You are really playing my stuff now. John Zewigg a fave of mine. Like the early "women of the SS" stuff too. Still alive I believe but the Heroin made him a shadow of the man he was.

Yes, Zewizz is still alive and Sleep Chamber did some reunion shows (and records) in recent years though I haven't heard any of the new material apart from one or two youtube videos. I love the band's early experimental stuff best of all. My first exposure to Sleep Chamber was seeing their impressive gig flyers and stickers hung up around Boston and Cambridge, MA in the 1980s and I actually remember seeing Zewizz on the subway back in those days (he worked for Boston's public transit service), back then he looked like a cross between Rutger Hauer and Rob Halford. Women of the SS was good too. I saw them perform live after they had changed their name to Women of Sodom (around 1994 or so), they were more of a performance art thing than an actual band but they were good nonetheless. Here's an interesting tidbit from Zewizz's Wikipedia page: And here's another cool Sleep Chamber video - this one was filmed in Boston's notorious (and long gone) Combat Zone neighborhood, once a haven for junkies, prostitutes, pimps, johns, strip clubs and X-rated movie theaters.

Yeah, I knew about the murder thing, although it was only a couple of years back and I came across it on an odd web site where people try to solve open murder cases themselves. Didn't know about it before that. There used to be a great blog that covered all things Zewigg and Sleepchamber but it disappeared a few years back, was called something like "God made me do it" run by a guy called "Thee Brad Miller". Ever stumble across it? I think towards the end it became semii- official.
