But we don't talk about those gals, right? They are just characters in those old westerns.
Why not talk about them? Might make for some very interesting movies or series

I had an Australian I Spit On Your Grave daybill, the size of your Insatiable poster. I’ve got a massive poster collection under my bed. Some have the NZ rating labels on them and some are stamped on that they used up until the early 80’s. Yes, the VRA rated home videos from mid 80’s A separate body that sometimes clashed with the film censor. The VRA seemed more stringent too. The film censor in the 80s, Arthur Everard, was very liberal, and passed quite a few controversial movies uncut, including The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, I Spit on Your Grave, The Driller Killer, and The Last House on the Left. The VRA was definitely stricter. Yes, I had a lot of fondness for Everard. He made some strange decisions which I corresponded with him over when I made some compares, but he really woke NZ up from a stranglehold of archaic censorship guidelines.

But they were sinners! Not what good Christian men & women could support!

I like to think of them more as capitalists and entrepreneurs
How is it the 'johns' are always the overlooked part of that equation?

The consumers? What part do they play in most stories?

You were saying the whores weren't well received or respected...........and I asked why the johns weren't more of a problem for people? Because THEY were the johns, perhaps?

Did you watch the segment? Wyoming refused to join the United States unless women were allowed to vote. Several western states allowed women the right to vote ahead of the US in general. It was women arriving in the various locals that turned many work camps into towns. Men in those camps were desperate enough for women, they would pay to see women's underwear. Women headed out west for economic opportunity. You think the men in the town wouldn't protect the women as a scarce resource? If Idiot Drunk killed one because he felt cheated, the town would be down 1 of their scarce producers of services. The brothels likely brought a certain amount of cash into the town as well so yeah. Not unlike horse theft being a hanging offense in the west. Someone steals your horse out in the middle of nowhere, you could die before reaching help. One of your brothel gals getting hurt so she can't provide services means maybe one of your ranch hands can't "get relief" because they are down a worker. So everyone saw them as providers of a valuable service as well as their money providing services. The clip mentions a Madame on New Mexico providing for schools. Another in Frisco helped out with survivors of the 1906 Quake. So the difference is "good christians" judging rather than the people out there using the services & seeing the value

You already know I'm about as fond of Adam as you are of Russell Brand.
Leave the hypocrite Christians out of it............WTH is the Govt doing involving itself? Keeping it illegal to this day? When it's perfectly OK to give it away for free?

But the Christians ate the problem. As long as Good Christian Voters have a say, it will remain illegal. You know I say legalize it. Tax it. Give the girls some protection getting them out of the alleys. Give the guys some protection getting the gals tested regularly. But it is a sin!

Very few 'good Christians' around these days, imo.
Exactly. We both know it'd create more tax revenues AND likely reduce crime overall.
We live for sin in the US. What's the point of even denying it anymore?
