I prefer Kalamata olives. I like the big, black juicy ones.

I prefer Kalamata olives. The Vice President is an olive?

For the longest time I disliked olives and avoided them and any dish containing them at all costs. Well into my 40s I started eating them and now I will gladly eat them if they are offered to me - but I never buy them for myself.

Olives have grown on me as I've gotten older but I'm not sure that is entirely normal... or healthy.

Most likely it's very healthy, considering that olive oil is frequently mentioned as being very healthy and is an important component of the Mediterranean diet. Cold pressed extra virgin olive oil is where it's at!

You can benefit from their nutritional value; use the oil in lamps and as a lubricant; as salve for healing and anointing. They thrive in rocky soil where only weeds will grow. And they are delicious. I did I mention the dirty martini?

But, are they concentrated in the part of your body that you sit upon? If so, they might be a different kind of berry!

What a blessing. Look at this majestic old lady. She’s around 3,000 years old.

If so, they might be a different kind of berry! Not the dingle variety! I was going to make some kind of joke about olives growing on my earlobes but it just isn't that funny so it's time to abandon the Olive ship! www.nationalhistoricships.org.uk/register/489/olive

Olives are a favourite of mine in deli sandwiches. Never really liked lettuce and tomato, specifically that combo, in subs, sandwiches, etc., but olives I love. Sliced green olives go great in a sandwich that's otherwise deli meats, mayo, mustard and cheese.
