Interesting trivia, Clint Eastwood was supposed to play Two Face, but the producers thought that character was too grusome looking for TV. Now that I think about it, the show had so many missed oppurtunities, Anthony Perkins would have been perfect for Scarecrow and Fred Gwynne could have been Solomon Grundy. I don't think Scarecrow or Solomon Grundy had been conceived yet in 1966. They went with False Face instead of Two Face. False Face scared me to death when I first watched it as a 3 year old. I had nightmares for years about the vending machine on the subway platform. They should have brought the villain back for more episodes.

Wasn't Vincent Price on it? Egghead. Lex Luthor ripoff. And Price hadn't done shit since The Ten Commandments. Anne Baxter from TTC played Zelda the Great, Cliff Robertson was "Shame", Tallulah Bankhead was Black Widow. Roddy McDowell ("Bookworm") might have been the biggest star to do Batman. Three years before he was Octavian in Cleopatra and a couple years after he did Planet of the Apes.
Shelley Winters was probably the biggest star. Anne Baxter was great as Zelda but I didnot like her as Olga in season 3. And when they paired Egghead with her they changed him from a diabolical braniac to a whiney pussywhipped wimp. I never much enjoyed King Tut when it first ran, but watching the show as an adult I find his performance absolutely brilliant. Should have received an Emmy nomination.

I almost bought the entire series on DVD a few weeks ago. Bought 'Kojak' instead.
Adam West was the best Batman ever.

Bought the remastered streaming seasons on Amazon a couple years ago during a sale. $14.99 for the whole series. It is beautiful and each episode has scenes I've never seen because they were edited for syndication.

I still watch most shows on DVD, the shows I watch are older and not usually on Netflix or Prime (the ones I have). It's 60$ or so for the entire Batman series on DVD. That's not bad.. 'Quincy' is over 200$! I'll but it sometime, I'm sure I'll have some laughs.

I forgot Shelley Winters Ma Parker. And Anne Baxter should have been better. She could play evil characters, Nefertiti in The Ten Commandments and Eve Harrington in All About Eve were more nasty that Zelda or Olga
The best villain was Frank Gorshin's Riddler. Yeah, he was just Tommy Udo from Kiss of Death but he sold it well. His overprounciation of words and his demented laugh were solid. The Riddler was laughing at Batman and Gorshin knocked over a vase. He pointed to the wrecked vase and laughed harder. Always wondered if that was scripted. And Julie Newmar's Catwoman. If i was Batman, i would have roasted Robin and fed him to Aunt Harriet for a night with Catwoman. Meow
