<---- Idris Elba <--- Tom Hardy <--- Tom Hiddleston <--- Richard Madden <--- Cillian Murphy <-- James Norton My personal vote would be for Tom Hardy. I can totally buy into him being the ultimate sex symbol, cool, calm, collected, and extremely physical and dexterous.

After you rule out candidates who are black or bearded or who look gay as fuck, there aren't many left from that list.

After you rule out candidates who are black or bearded or who look gay as fuck, there aren't many left from that list. Beards can be shaved. What struck me is how a few of them just seem too slender. When I think of James Bond, I just imagine more of a tall and larger fellow. A lot of actors have packed on pounds of muscle to buff up for a role, like Christian Bale did for Batman. Then again, Bale has gone to extremes in both directions. So that can be addressed as well. I've got a feeling Idris Elba is going to be the next James Bond. From what I've read, those are the only contenders.

You could be right. But also it might be someone we're not expecting at all. Sean Connery wasn't completely unknown when he got the part but he wasn't a major star either.

Elba - they might give him a one or two movie deal (i.e. a two-parter, both shot at the same time) but he's too old for a five movie run.
Tom Hardy - big, slobbery lips; acting totally average.
Of that lot, Hiddleston is probably closest to the books. Not that that matters.

WHat about Cucumberman? Is he too gay to be Bond? He’s the typically pompous Brit.
The best Bond was Lazenby. He should have had more roles.

The best Bond was Lazenby. He should have had more roles. George Lazenby, the oafoid, was shit, but the film he was in was very good and had the best Bond film ending of all of them. That's what saved him. Other than that, he was just a big oaf that showed up.

Even Lazenby was better than Pierce Brosnan.

Tom Hardy - big, slobbery lips; acting totally average. But did you see his eyes? Obviously not, or else you'd be lost in them. Not right for 007, though.
