Mine, for today at least, is that Mark Cavendish fails to make the time cut at the Tour de France and I won't have to hear about (or even worse, from) the pointless has-been for the next three weeks. A man can dream!

Mine would be to get good at squash.
Thanks for the reminder about the Tour - my favourite sporting event of the year.

I win every men’s track and field gold medal at ten consecutive Olympic games.

Mine would be to get good at squash. Thanks for the reminder about the Tour - my favourite sporting event of the year. It's probably mine too, though I'm now finding myself wishing that I hadn't cancelled my Discovery subscription (which I had solely for Eurosport) until after it, as the ad breaks are doing my head in, even with the sound off. I can do without guilt-tripping every 20 minutes. Not a great deal happening today yet, but it's fun nonetheless.

The last hour or so was actually pretty interesting in a quiet sort of way.

My football predictions are notoriously inept, not sure if my cycling ones are any better, but I have a hunch for Roglic this time.

Fucking hell, I really made a mistake getting rid of Eurosport before the Tour. It's absolutely pissing down, I have literally nothing else to do today aside from running at teatime, and ITV's coverage doesn't start till 2. Boo!
ETA In this particular instance, as it's shaping up to be the most boring stage ever, I didn't miss much, but I almost certainly will as the race unfolds.

That's in the short term. In the medium term, I hope to score tickets for one or preferably two World Cup 2026 matches, in Toronto and/or Boston. And in the long term, my most fervent sporting wish is that international football is not killed by the greedy owners while I am still breathing.
