That song doesn't make a lick of sense to anyone who isn't a spoiled rotten brat. It's very pleasant sounding, and the singers are excellent at their craft, but it's just a mechanical sounding bit of music. There's no emotion in the music, and none in the lyrics.
The lyrics are perfect for a totally psycho serial killer, and definitely for a traitor who has been privileged beyond belief, but good grief, what a horrid song of hatefulness. Purposely burning bridges and leaving behind people who made you privileged. A lot of us would love to have that kind of privilege, and would never turn on our allies.
Of course Kelly of Kelly's Heroes was a psychopathic monster, so I guess it fits that maniac character. It's really surprising that the usual good guy Eastwood plays the psycho using Gold as an excuse to get people killed, and the usual maniac Sevalas plays the one who just wants to keep people alive in a war.
Talk to NoRev. Personally, I put Mike Curb slightly above the 1910 Fruitgum Co. in terms of music. Overproduced silliness with a big hook. You seem to put it into a precursor to Hate Metal like Venom or Gorgoroth
But the lyrics are horrible. Have you read the lyrics? A spoiled brat with privilege of growing up with people backing him or her all the way, and this brat snubs the ones who helped him or her, and we're supposed to identify with that somehow? What maniac would identify with that? Maybe it's because I never had a home crew behind me, moving around all of my life, but honestly, there's no way to sympathize or empathize with that song unless one is a totally spoiled brat.
