Is it still true that Pennsylvania schools are closed down on the first day of deer-hunting season? I remember that was the case some years ago.
That's how entrenched the gun culture is in that state. And from the looks of some of those attendees at the rally, I would guess a sizable percentage have arsenals at their homes.
It would be heartening if, after all of the slaughtered schoolchildren, shoppers, concertgoers, and other victims of death by deranged gun-obsessed morons, some of these ammosexuals would finally consider some stronger gun laws after seeing their orange messiah get targeted by yet another dumbass little punk who easily obtained a high-powered assault rifle. But from all of the instantaneous raving about placing blame on Biden/Obama/Deep state/radical left/antifa/media that broke out, it doesn't look like that's gonna happen.

If this had happened at any other crowded outdoor venue--a parade, concert, etc.--it might have resulted in a typical mass shooting, with a half-dozen or more deaths. The NRA would be making paranoid statements about "taking our guns away" while politicians would be mumbling the usual "thoughts and prayers" remarks before turning back to their grifting, even as the EMTs are collecting the bodies. The one good thing about this is that the moron didn't count on the massive Secret Service and military presence which quickly blew him away. This probably wasn't a politically-motivated assassination attempt, but a dopey stunt by another attention-seeking arrested adolescent.

Or he might’ve known about their presence and known he’d likely be killed. He may have had fantasies about who would play him in a movie. Anyone doing this is deeply disturbed.
