Any more hilarious than watching him in a fight scene where he's supposed to be tough? I love Goodfellas and Casino but couldn't stand The Irishman. Elderly tough guys. Agreed. Both those were masterpieces and De Niro was stellar in each of them.

You know, one would think Martin Scorsese would have seen the sense in casting younger people for the parts--like in the Godfather Part 2. It's ironic--that DeNiro had some prosthetics on to portray the part (in fact Brando was more muscular and bigger than a young DeNiro) but it still worked.
Maybe Netfux forced him to use CGI as a marketing gimmick.
Or it was an ego thing for DeNiro and co. to be CGI'ed.
They didn't use younger actors because that would have killed novelty of the movie. People wanted to see a gangster movie with Pesci, De Niro and Pacino directed by Scorsese for years. Scorsese and De Niro begged Pesci to come out of retirement for this movie. Maybe for the more physical scenes they could have used stunt doubles with De Niro's face added in post, like they did with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

And yet he is still way smarter than Trump and most of MAGA. The guy is worth $500 million obsessing over Trump he isn't smarter. Because having money means he shouldn't care about how his country is run and who runs it?

Scorsee and De Niro begged Pesci to come out of retirement for this movie. Yeah but presumably they would be satisfied with them playing older characters. Scorsese of all people should have known the CGI approach was a bad idea.
CGI is a dead end because ultimately it is not better than using real people. I guess the problem was they needed them to be older--40s-50s--so using a newcomer would have been more difficult. If the characters were supposed to be 20 something--then using younger actors would have been smarter.

Waiting outside a court for Donald Trump when you're that rich is unhinged no matter how much you care. Post a photo of yourself holding a cat saying you endorse Kamala on Facebook and get a life.

Post a photo of yourself holding a cat saying you endorse Kamala on Facebook and get a life. So you're saying that having money means one should protest in a less effective way and care less about how the country is run or who runs it otherwise it means one is "unhinged" and has no life. Is a rich person who goes to Trump's rallies to cheer for Trump and talk shit about his opponent also unhinged and with no life, or you apply this logic only to De Niro?

De Niro should tear his shirt off Hulk Hogan style. Trump supporters love it when old men do that sort of thing.

Add to the fact he has young children he should be taking care of at his age before he dies. Yeah he's unhinged.

So protesting means someone is unhinged and not taking care of their kids and not doing anything else at all? Again, do you apply this logic to Trump supporters too or just De Niro?

Trump supporters have never been thought to be normal sane people that abide by societal norms in their country.

Yeah, they're actually crazy for supporting a narcissistic fascist seeking unchecked power as president of USA. What sane people do is protest that.

Robert De Niro can protest and someone can say he's a lunatic for doing that. It works both ways.
