My amateur’s theory is the Scotch-Irish, aka the Borderland people, were the genetic remnants of the last Viking tribal kingdoms in Great Britain, the Danelaw. And huge numbers migrated in waves migrated to Northern Ireland and in to the New World. These are the Rednecks.
