I don't remember anyone thinking it was a Christmas movie back in the day. Not sure when that meme started. It was never a Christmas movie, this has been confirmed by the movie director, the producers, the actors, and everyone involved with the movie.
Then the meme started and then some people actually took the bait and think it was supposed to be serious.
