One of my neighbors awhile back had a grown son who committed suicide. Took pills deliberately. No note, though. He was a loner but seemed happy. It was very unexpected that he took his life. My neighbor was never the same. Yeah and the strange thing is my friend had a lot of friends. So weird, just like when my other friend died. It’s weird thinking you’ll never talk to someone again. Just unreal. |

I'm so sorry. It's especially hard when there is no explanation. Yeah his girlfriend is devastated and is wondering if it was her. It wasn’t, she’s a cool girl who could hang with us guys. He always raved about how awesome she is and was talking about marrying her when we last got together a few weeks back. I don’t know what the hell happened between then and Saturday. But something made him think he had no other recourse but to take a jump into the great beyond. Could be depression... |

I’m so sorry to hear that.
I’ve never lost anyone to suicide, but I’ve thought about ending my life many times, if I ever do it I’ll leave a note explaining why I’m ending it all. But there are a few people I would hate to leave behind and I imagine it must be very painful to lose someone so suddenly like that, that’s one of the things that’s kept me from ever attempting it - the handful of people who I do care about.
I hope you and the rest of the loved ones of the deceased are doing okay. You have my sympathy.

Dang....very sorry for you and his loved ones. It's tragic and traumatizing when it's unexpected. It's even harder when there is no reason.
Hoping having everyone together at the celebration of his life at least helps everyone make some sense of it and begin to best cope with such a sudden loss.

Suicide is a permanent solution to what are often temporary problems. We’ll never know why he did this on Saturday and that mystery will always haunt those of us who knew him. Could we have done something differently? Was he ever quietly reaching out and we didn’t get the subtle clues? I don’t know. |

Growing up Catholic scared me into not doing it as we were told you go to Hell if you kill yourself. I don’t think that’s true, even if there is a Heaven or Hell, but as a teenager it always kept me far from that. |

Yeah I’ve contemplated suicide many times, starting in my teenage years - I try to take pleasure in small things and hobbies and find beauty in life, but I have severe depression and anxiety and it wouldn’t be surprising if I ended it all one day. But I have a couple of people who I don’t think I could leave behind right now, particularly my dad and my grandmother, I love them both very much. I also have a wonderful dog that I would never leave behind. I wish the best for you and hope you find some happiness. |

That makes two of them self-terminating that way. His girlfriend came home and found him hanging. No note, no warning signs, just like when my other friend hanged himself. He was very successful financially as well. No one knows why he did it. We’re going to celebrate his life tomorrow night. Poor guy. Dude was sharp too and listened to all the bullshit that vomits out of my mouth, too. Another good one bites the dust. Words fail me, my condolences. |

So sorry to hear, that's awful. Especially of there were no signs and he wasn't appearing depressed or stressed about anything. Could it have been an accident like Michael Hutchence?
