I didn't know Pooh Bear was known in the US. He's great though. How about Paddington - was he known before the recent films? I much prefer the 70s version, he's a lot more innocent and cute looking.

Do we have Winnie the Pooh? Yes. He's had a long career at Disney. We have Paddington, we have the Berenstains, or -steins, we have Smokey, we have Yogi, and we have Fozzie. I probably have a bear in the dumpster out back now.

Fun fact: Fozzie grew up in Britain because no US network would buy their show until ATV (Anglia Television, regional subsidiary of ITV) in the UK did in 1976.

Yep, Frank Oz, Fozzie's human counterpart, was born in the UK. So was Bob Hope.

I never saw that character before. I just thought this entire thread needed a big hug. Well, his name is Winnie the Pooh and his friends are Eeyore, Piglet, Rabbit, Roo, Tigger and Christopher Robin and they live near the Hundred Acre Wood: And Pooh Bear loves jars of honey!

We know about Winnie; we don't know about that other character you posted. My daughter was inseparable from her Winnie stuffed bear.

I watch an episode every evening when I get into bed. It's very soothing and a great way to get the day's annoyances out of your mind.
