Tonight, on BBC 2 (British Broadcasting Corporation), it was Blondie night. Potentially, a rarity as Great Britain's national broadcaster controversially scheduled a series of arts programmes dedicated to the legacy of an American punk band.
However, there was a new documentary aired about the band's trips to the U K. Looking forward to seeing it as I set it to record on a SKY box.

U K tried to claim Blondie during an extended BBC-sponsored press kit by rolling out endless English talking heads that supposedly met her once on the M4. No dice!
(i knew the Brit academics would raise the "male gaze" philosophy as always ...)
"Sexy lady!" ...

Great outfit although never really punk, more a great combination of genres that came together very well under Mike Chapman's superb production. People tend to forget that Harry was in her 30's already when they made it and is now nearly 80. Glen Matlock does bass duties these days and whilst they can still put a decent hits set together you have to go back to the early '00 gigs for their last top notch performances. Long may she continue to dance like everyone's favourite drunk aunt though, and we all had "that" poster on our walls back in '78.

Is it a poster you can describe here (safe for this site)? Curious which one it was.
I got hold of a cheapo clip frame for this picture and hung it on my bedroom wall when I was a teenager, that was early 90s.
'Summer Of Sam' : Joey Ramone & Debbie Harry (... the word punk has been added ...)

Got it from my local record shop, was a promo thing, rather risque see through dress, just did a picture search but couldn't find it, maybe it was a UK only thing for record stores. My memory is slightly fuzzy. Wasn't the greatest hits poster, that came a few years later, wished I'd kept stuff like that, would likely fetch a fair price on ebay now, the record shop was owned by the father of a girl I went to school with so I always got given loads of promo stuff.
