And spent 20 years of her life sentence Freed and aquitted by the appeals court.
Recent DNA evidence that showed all the children had a genetic disease with propensity to cot death. The only real evidence against her was the statistical proof that 4 cot deaths could not be natural. However probability becomes unreliable when skewing factors exist, such as disease which can cause cot death.

I know this story from Dr. Todd Grande's YT channel; I saw the video a few years ago. It was painfully apparent that she didn't murder them. A shocking story, really. God knows she deserves the record payout. Carl LaFong

I've never been good at statistics and probability but as far as I know, it is an incorrect calculation to add or multiply the probability of each event to get a total for the likelihood of all 4 events happening. I think that assumes that each event is unrelated, but when there is a strong link as in this case, where all children had the same genetic disorder one cannot make a easy probability.

Yes, they all shared the same tragic genetic disorder that took them from her, from this life. Can you imagine the grief and then to be blamed for it? And as a mother she must have already felt some sense of guilt not because she did anything wrong but because her babies kept dying. And then 20 years incarcerated? Unimaginable. This is the video I saw; it's actually from March 2021. I found it to be a good summary of events for the average viewer like me. He's extremely skeptical yet still sees her as not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and, more likely than not, not guilty in reality (it's from before the latest court proceedings and acquittal). He speaks of the original trial witnesses who testified about statistics having no understanding of statistical computations. His last line is "I don't know if Kathleen Folbigg is guilty or not, but I do know that the court is guilty of murdering logic," and I was convinced she was not guilty after seeing this.

The other piece of damning evidence was her confession, where she must have been rambling about feeling guilty. Witnesses pulled apart her statement to 'prove' she was confessing rather than just her feelings of guilt.

What mother wouldn't be crushed by losing four babies, unable to save them? Only a demon or, on earth, a psychopath. Such inept experts, so shocking. That Dr. I posted speaks of their confirmation bias and how they twisted everything to fit their narrative. Unreal. Meanwhile, in the reverse extreme, Munchausen by Proxy (sp?) perpetrators have destroyed healthy children's lives sometimes terminally before practitioners catch on. It seems like law enforcement and the experts should've known Folbigg wasn't being slick and evasive like someone lying to hide her crimes. She was literally too guileless, something I'm fairly sure the guilty never are. I hope she manages to have more happiness than I can put words to. Amazing she's gotten through this all.

I heard. Imagine.
I'm kind of curious about the payout. The article I read said it might be record-breaking. I'm half curious if it'll have ramifications elsewhere. The article I read said only a few countries have legal systems that revisit cases through the gears, and Australia isn't one of them. Apparently this woman's innocence was unearthed by goodwill from allies.

@papalegba,
She should sue the state. 20 years of her life gone and she was innocent.
