Seems a bit of a sacrifice, but otherwise my face won't fit my ID and come Thursday I want to be able to vote for Femy Amin, the animal rights nut.
How about you guys ?

I thought old people were the only ones who still kept the clean shaven look in the 21th century. Ironically, in the 19th century when beards were also in fashion, it was the opposite and mostly old guys who wore them.

It is not a fashion statement so much as a requirement demanded by the commies at County Hall, aided by their neo fascist allies. For some reason, God alone knows why, I will have to show ID before I can vote and the photo in my passport was taken twenty years ago which was before I grew a beard.
I bloody well loathe shaving, but I suppose that sacrifices must be made for freedom and animal rights.

Just draw a beard on your passport photo.

My late brother had a full old hippy beard and was annoyed when they became fashionable again and almost everyone had one.

I thought passports were only valid for five years. I don't think Clint is a fan either. How about getting a shave from a really beautiful young lady like Angie Dickinson in Rio Bravo?

Passports are valid for ten years.
You may still be allowed to use an expired one for ID purposes when voting though. I’m not sure about that mind.

I guess not shaving so much kept down blood poisoning, but it must have been a louse’s delight.

Some old Westerns were criticized for being too clean shaven. imdb.com/title/tt0053221/goofs/My beard grows very fast and I don't think I could have ever afforded to keep clean shaven and going to the barbershop every day if I lived in the 19th century. Unless I could have learned to use a straight razor, but that takes a lot of skill. Then again, in the 18th century beards were virtually nonexistent, I hear.

Funnily enough, in most of the American Civil War photos I have seen, the other ranks were clean shaven. A lot of it may have been due to them being little more than children, but some might have been due to the universal belief that an untidy soldier is an unhappy soldier.

Many men cannot grow full beards until they are 25 or in their 30's even, if they'll ever be able to grow one at all. Others can grow them at 14, but that's mostly those of Middle Eastern and South Asian descent. I got one of those pubescent mustaches when I was 11 and had it for two years because my dad refused to let me shave. By age 15, I had a hairy chest. My beard probably didn't kick in until my late teens or early 20's.
