Brits favourite sci-fI is Doctor Who. It’s cheap, crap, and PC. Says a lot about Britain. It was before it was cheap, crap and PC.

Superheroes are the closest thing to mythology in the US. Ancient Greece had myths of Hercules and Perseus and other great heroes, the UK has the legendary stories of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. In the US, superheroes are basically their form of mythology. And they take the form of allegories for grownup subjects like the struggles of immigrants the way Superman comics do. Maybe, but that still doesn't explain why the hero is wearing his girlfriend's knickers

I never really looked at Captain Britain when it first came out but I’d say it’s problem was probably down to a lack of character. When I was a kid I liked the black and white Marvel reprints but we also had The Steel Claw, The Black Max and The Spider. Perhaps I’d have been more interested if he was called The Captain Britain. Correction time: The Black Max was actually called Black Max. Oh well.

The only thing I remember about Captain Britain is that he's Psylocke's brother.
