I loved it.
Handful of prominent information and artifacts.
I recommend anyone to go if they want to learn about things they don't teach you in schools.

Why aren't you called black Americans? Seems to me, there's a constant sense of not belonging when you use the word African to describe yourself.
Black British is used here.

I prefer "Americans of African descent". This puts the title "Americans" first, as it should be. The origin of ethnicity comes second, "of African descent". As we're all here in the United States, Americans first, it makes sense. Hyphenating ourselves into different groups only serves to divide us. But, that might be what some groups want. What do I know. I'm just an American of German/Irish descent.

I don't get why so many Americans don't seem to want to just be... Americans. I keep hearing about how America is much better at integrating immigrants but it never looks that way from the outside.

I agree. And I personally do. America used to be good about integrating immigrants, because America expected assimilation. These days its culturally insensitive to expect cultural integration. We're all "hyphenated Americans". And we're the worse for it.
