Bees are related to ants, which is to say that they are enough alike to cause problems to that end.
Also, eating ants or stuff that ants have been eating can cause chemical problems in your brain
because of the chemical trails that ants leave behind and the chemicals they store in their bodies.

So eating ants really can land you in the psych ward or mental hospital, whatever you choose to call it.
Eating bees, you probably shouldn't risk it because it could have the same effect, or worse if you are allergic to bees or ant stings.

So just don't!!! It isn't worth the risk...

I don't see what's so weird about number 2 when people in the west quite willingly eat caviar without qualms.
