Papa John's started doing pizzas with butternut squash bases. These have far fewer calories than bread bases, so I tried one last night.
It was okay, but it had a distinctive taste that I'm not sure went with the pizza experience. It was possible to pick the slices up (unlike cauliflower bases I have also tried), so the must be some sort of bonding agent in there. Maybe it's part butternut, part flour.
Anyway, it's very good for calorie reduction but the bread version tastes better.

I checked - no flour, no gluten. Not sure how the pieces are pickable uppable.
