Some of my best times were when Australia had conscription to send young men to Vietnam to kill gooks.
I lived in a safe house for draft dodgers, who would have been up for 2 years in military prison if caught. We were willing to feed them till they moved on to the next safe house.
As students we had a rule, that if we got a casual job where the employer didnt ask for our draft card, we were morally obliged to offer the job to somebody on the run from the army.
