The elephant in the room here is why this used to happen before with immigrants and assimilation/melting plot and why it's being derailed now. Because their numbers are getting bigger. They get more confident and demanding as their numbers grow. |

No, what European countries should do is what the United States does. Work with the immigrants to find jobs, schools, housing and to assimilate into the local culture. And deport any who refuse to accept western values. Yes, we do all of that, but I think we have a group who are very different to yours. You get professionals like doctors and accountants. We mostly get uneducated, working class ones. This is because, historically, the UK recruited from muslim countries (pakistan, bangladesh) to fill our textile factories, so we got machine workers. They bred more of the same and brought their families over who were more of the same. Other countries, like France, have lots of north africans due to colonial history. Italy has lots of north africans due to colonialism and proximity to africa. Try as you might, too many just can't (or won't) learn. Too many are low IQ so will always be in poverty (blaming their host) and are full of religious nonsense, which teaches them NOT to assimilate. That last point is vital - they do NOT want to assimilate. Deportation for not accepting western values will never work, far too arbitrary. This goes back to the US policy of vetting all prospective immigrants and controlling the number that get in. And Europe just letting all and whoever immigrate to European countries without vetting and controls. |

In the UK, we have a lot of very vocal, bleeding-heart lefties who cry that any form of suitability test is a form of prejudice. They argue that it is our duty to help everyone, regardless of their skills, experience or standing in life. I can see that up to a point, but we should allocate a certain number of places per year based on skills, and a certain number based on compassion. |

Europe never should have let all those people in. But, you and I live in democracies. You and I are not kings. So we must respect the majorities. We benefit when they get it right. And we suffer when they get it wrong. It is the same in the United States. So, I say they created the problem. Let them fix it. And never pass up a chance to lay blame. |
