I searched for the word banger and there were just a few results. On a TV show I watch a British woman fixed her American father some bangers and mash. I had to ask other fans what it was because my DVR was a minute late and started as she handed him the food. So do you have this a lot for breakfast?

I wouldn't have that for breakfast - that's more like a pub lunch. The only thing there that would appear on a breakfast plate are the sausages (or 'bangers' - maybe called that because they used to make bursting noises when they were cooked?).
Now I'm hungry.
