Dark chocolate candy bars are actually good for your heart health, and the almonds help keep your hair from turning grey. It won't wreck your sugar index either. Who doesn't need the occasional soda with the candy bar to help take the edge off. The zero versions of the sodas taste almost exactly like the sugared variety but without the extra calories. It makes a difference to diabetics because a 20 oz. sugared soda to a diabetic is like the same amount of vodka to a normal person without diabetes. Yes, type 2 diabetics can get roaring drunk off a sugared soda. It brings a whole new meaning to the term "sugar high".

Whole grains. They keep you saturated longer and still deliver the energy that you get from low quality carbon hydrates, such as wheat.
If you are addicted to sugar, try to stick to fruit.
Other than that, go for proteins.
