Are there any other franchises that you think can last as long as James Bond?
By which I mean having a regular production line, not something like Dracula, which can take a break for 15 years.

Indiana Jones is the only one I can think of.
But they would need to start making it regular and make it understood that a new actor will be on-board every 4 films or so.

Well, If you look at The Star Wars movies as starting from when Lucas re-released all original 3 (episodes 4,5,6) in 1997 as the starting point, then this franchise has now gone 21years with many more movies expected, I would say this might be the only likely candidate. I don't think the Indiana Jones series would have the legs in terms of finding suitable plot lines for it's character to remain interesting.

Good choice. Between TV and Movies one could argue this has done better than anyone so far.

Here is a list of the top grossing media franchises from all revenue streams (film, TV, toys, games etc): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_highest-grossing_media_franchisesAnd number 1 is...... holy crap, wasn't expecting that.

I see what you're looking at which is money. This #1 is only boosted by games etc.. Your thread refers to staying power which requires a constant audience over an extended period which should be determined by different viewing performances like Movies and Television keeping a constant viewing audience. I felt the Star Trek choice to be a good one as it has been around since the 60's with numerous movies along with different TV spin-offs from the original show. To date it has released 13 Movies (yes Bond has 26 but...) and has spawned 7 different TV series spanning across a total of 31 seasons to date. This is longer than your monetary #1 of 21yrs and meets the thread's criteria for Lasting power as it has been around 52 years.

I was following up on your comment about what has 'done better', not the thread title. Whichever it applies to, it's still an interesting table. Agree with you in terms of longevity and spread.

Sorry for the confusion. When I said 'done better' I meant in the context I've described, not money. It certainly is a lot of money for that stupid character though.
