Completely agree on the restriction of "protest", a very worrying move by the Conservative Party, the sort of thing you see in the most authoritarian states.

I bet he's not telling the full story though. I bet you it's not "we can ban you from protest just because we feel like it". I bet it's more "We can ban you from protest if you damage property, disrupt highways" or similar. As usual though, I bet you he doesn't go into the text of the law - why bother? Just jump on the hysteria bandwagon anyway.

I find the whole climate change protesting in the UK frankly annoying, we have one of the best records for what we are attempting to do and they would be better off going and attempting to make their same points in places like Beijing, but for some reason they seem disinclined to do so, but they must have the right to be annoying bastards, this is the sort of things that I was worried about when we left the Human Rights EU laws, the Conservatives were always going to try and see how much they could get away with in limiting civil liberties.

Protest sure but they don't have the right to block highways, disrupt other people's lives so much and cause so much damage and cost. People must be accountable for their damaging actions. So I would like to see the text of the law to see what it really says and if it is targeting that type of behaviour and not just a carte blanche 'no protests'.
