3:20, over on 3:30, turkey in 5:45, turkey out 5:45, spuds in 6:00, stuffing in 6:15, gravy on 6:28, sprouts in 6:30 ready
Not because I'm no good at cooking but I know fine well I'll be drunk by then so need to remove the thinking.
Pre-emptive, see?

Did you prepare the stuffing? No, it's all shop-bought. My Dad and I used to do that when I was a boy - we had a hand mincer and I'd turn the handle while he stuffed all the giblets in there and out came chunky goop for stuffing and them some would go back through a few more times with a finer cutter to make pate.

Small turkey or just breast? It's a 'crown' - a 2kg lump of breast. I would much rather have goose - delicious stuff as its skin has an underlayer of fat all over so it cooks marvellously and produces meat which is not dry and skin which is crispy and tasty - but they only sell that as a whole goose round here so I'd be eating it till Feb.

What Monkey really needs is one of those girly things. Not only are they great at cooking the Christmas dinner, they provide something to do when the Christmas movie turns out to be rubbish.

That's a very American Christmas dinner. Was your father a US serviceman?
