I saw Benn give a speech many years ago in a small room, was electrifying.

There was no pretense with him, he was a rebel.

There was no pretense with him, he was a rebel. I'm no expert on him but a cursory read suggests there may have been a plastic socialist element. Happy to be wrong about that, of course. I'm sure Yggdrasil will be along soon to give us one of his sermons.

Anyone "plastic" seems to give it up and go for the private money after a while (Blair was the perfect example) people like Benn and Foot and Skinner gave their lives to their beliefs, same with people like Thatcher and some of the other odious Tories, their beliefs may have been an abomination but no one would call them career politicians which are all you tend to get nowadays.

Viscount playing socialist? Sure. Yeah, we get it, and Tories all hate the poor. There are exceptions in all parties outside your silly "black and white" world. Even IDS is trying to get something done about Chinese genocide although not getting far with Boris and co.

I prefer to make decisions about things rather than live in a nondescript world where everything is grey and decision-less. IDS t-shirt for you!

You've claimed that a lot of them certainly do and if you're going to play the semantics game between 'a lot' and 'all', well, good day to you.
