Always more interesting commentary when coming from a raving Conservative like Oborne, but I can't see it. You can make a lot of analogies with Trump and "populism" and people ignoring lies and character defects right in front of their face, but the Tories will just move on. Unlike Trump, Boris has no wish to destroy the party out of hubris, he'll be happy to jump on the huge money making speech circuit.
